The area is internationally renowned for its hay meadows and rare wild flowers. At the appropriate times of year this walk embraces beautiful hayfields and varieties of orchids and other native wild flowers.
Fishing
The Strathmore Arms is the ideal base for three of the finest upland reservoirs of Selset, Grassholme and Hury. The Upper Tees is renowned for its fly fishing, - brown trout, salmon, and sea trout, and day permits are available -"Click here" for details.

Route 3 passes the Strathmore Arms and all routes are accessible from route 3.
The Whin Sill around Holwick and the stones used in "The Strathmore Arms"
Visit the expanses of rock formations of Whin Sill. The rock which forms the spectacular Holwick Scars, and both High Force and Low Force.
